Therm Guard
“The superior man seeks what is right; the inferior one, what is profitable.” – Confucius
In the fight against rising energy cost, your first line of defense is to reduce the energy loses that increase the need for energy to control temperature in a particular area. One of the easiest ways to do this is to reduce the losses that take place through the ceiling. The single biggest area of energy loss from a room is through the ceiling of it is uninsulated almost 50% of the energy in the room is gained or lost through the ceiling if it is uninsulated. Almost 90% of this energy transfer can be stopped by the use of a good ceiling insulation. Ceiling insulations have a relatively low installation cost, zero running and maintenance cost and can usually last the lifetime of the building.
By installing Therm Guard onto your ceiling, you not only improve your quality of life but also improve the value of your home. Therm Guard Blown Cellulose fibre insulation is the worlds number one choice in insulation!!!
THERM GUARD:
Therm Guard is very light cellulose fiber in a coarse powder form. It is blown into the ceiling void by means of a special pump which aerates the powder thus improving its insulation properties (air is a very poor conductor of heat, see table), it also enables the powder to flow into all gaps, crevices, joints and difficult to reach places, so unlike most blanket type systems which do leave gaps around obstructions which allow energy past. Therm Guard will give 100% filling and covering every time. This results in a much more effective energy “seal” than blanket tyre systems ever if the thermal conductivity values are the same.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT R-VALUES:
Therm Guard has earned the prestigious SABS mark and has better insulation performance than other conventional ceiling insulation products. We challenge you to compare our “R” Values with those of the opposition.
The chart shows the R-Value of this insulation. R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the greater the insulating power.
Therm Guard Light Cellulose Fibre insulation is approved by the SABS, Department of Public Works and Land Affairs, The Wildlife Society of Southern Africa and many other organizations.
